The WordPress Themes repository is packed with some great themes, which you can install with a click of a button. However, if you prefer buying a premium WordPress theme outside of the repository and install it for your WordPress site this can be done. So let’s see how you can do that…
After you download your Premium WordPress® Theme, you need to upload it to your hosting account, unarchive it, and then activate it.
To Install Your Premium WordPress Theme,
- Upload the ZIP file containing your theme to the /wp-content/themes directory with an FTP Client
- Unarchive the ZIP file you just uploaded. For more information, see Unarchive files and directories.
To Activate Your Premium WordPress Theme,
- Log in to your WordPress control panel (http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin, where yourdomain.com is your domain name).
- From the Appearance menu, select Themes.
- In the Available Themes section, under your Premium WordPress Theme, click Activate.
Your new theme displays as soon as you visit your site.
